Job summary

Black Bear Diner seeks an Assistant Manager to be the right-hand person to the General Manager, leading shifts and coordinating guest service, food quality and staffing. You will interview, hire and train new employees with GM approval, ensuring front and back of house operations run smoothly.

You will monitor labor, costs and profitability while coaching team members to deliver fast, friendly service and high-quality food.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Restaurant experience required; 21+ years old.
• ServSafe certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Proficient in basic computer programs and office software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guest service meets Black Bear Diner standards.
• Oversee food prep, cooking and plating per company standards.
• Develop labor schedules and adjust for sales volume.
• Hire, train and coach team members; support GM as needed.
