Job summary

Black Bear Diner in Burleson, TX seeks an Assistant Manager to be the right hand of the General Manager. You will lead shifts, supervise staff, and ensure fast, friendly service and high quality food.

You’ll recruit, hire, and train team members and manage front and back-of-house operations for a smooth shift. You’ll help control costs, monitor inventory, and support payroll processes while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Must be ServSafe certified.
• Experience in restaurant or hospitality supervisory role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations when GM is unavailable and ensure guest service meets company standards.
• Oversee food prep, cooking, and plating to quality standards.
• Hire, train, and develop team members with GM approval for promotions.
• Coordinate labor schedules and adjust staffing to match sales volume.
• Monitor costs, controls, and inventory; analyze P&L to drive profitability.
• Process payroll and maintain records per company procedures.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
