Job summary

Black Bear Diner is seeking an Assistant Manager in Missouri to serve as the right hand to the General Manager. You will lead shifts, hire and train staff, and ensure fast, friendly guest service and high quality food.

You will monitor costs, manage inventories, and coach team members for a smooth operation. You will interview and hire, post schedules, and assist in payroll while ensuring compliance with safety and company standards.

Qualifications

• High School or GED; some college preferred; previous restaurant experience desirable.
• Must be ServSafe certified.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to listen and influence.
• Understanding of P&L analysis, cash controls, labor analysis, yields and costs.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff and supervisors to promote efficiency and morale while complying with employment regulations.
• Interview and hire team members, approve promotions and changes in status.
• Develop and post labor schedules; adjust to sales volume.
• Ensure guest service, food safety, and quality standards are met.
• Process payroll and maintain applicant tracking; manage inventory controls.
• Assist in achieving financial objectives for sales and costs.
