Job summary

Black Bear Diner in Joplin is seeking an Assistant Manager to be the right hand to the General Manager. You will oversee planning, training, staffing, and shift leadership to deliver fast, friendly service and high-quality food.

You will interview, hire, train, and coach Team Members, manage front and back of house operations, and ensure daily duties are completed accurately for opening and closing. Travel for training is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• ServSafe certification is required to perform the role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate planning, training and leadership to achieve sales, costs and profitability objectives.
• Lead the shift at times without a GM (solo shift) and ensure guest service is fast and friendly.
• Interview and hire team members; assist in creating staffing schedules and payroll.
• Monitor and control inventory, costs, and labor to meet financial targets.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, local health regulations, and company standards.
