Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care in a long-term care setting in Boise, Idaho. You will interpret orders, assess resident needs, deliver prescribed therapy, and evaluate responses while collaborating with care teams.

The role emphasizes education, clinical governance, and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines. Requires RT certification, BLS, and ventilator experience; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must be a CRT or RRT in the practicing state.
• Current BLS; ACLS preferred.
• Clear fingerprint card and annual TB check.
• Physical within 6 months; COVID card current.
• Ventilator unit experience required; LTC/SL nursing preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care, interpret orders and assess patient needs.
• Deliver prescribed therapy and evaluate resident responses.
• Set up and manage medical gases, humidification and ventilation support.
• Oversee rehab department management, care planning and documentation.
• Coordinate with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory care into daily practice.
• Assess, plan and evaluate respiratory therapy care across the facility.
• Document equipment orders and ensure maintenance follow-up.
• Develop discharge plans and coordinate communications with families and physicians.
