Job summary

Sweetwater Care seeks a qualified Respiratory Therapist to independently perform respiratory care procedures, interpret orders, assess resident needs, deliver prescribed therapy and evaluate responses. The role acts as a consultant, educator and clinician to staff in a home/long-term care environment.

The ideal candidate holds a valid respiratory therapist license, is in good standing in the state, and demonstrates strong communication with residents, families and the care team.

Qualifications

• Certification as Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to interpret physician orders and assess resident needs.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines for respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Promotes healing through respiratory care, diagnostics and education.
• Administers prescribed therapies including ventilation and oxygen monitoring.
• Manages equipment setup, humidification, medications and airway support.
• Oversees rehab department management, case management and care planning.
• Coordinates with nursing leadership and trains staff as needed.
• Develops discharge plans and tracks respiratory therapy equipment maintenance.
• Assesses residents and adjusts care plans in collaboration with physicians.
