Job summary

FullShift Staffing in Idaho Falls is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to independently perform respiratory care procedures, interpret orders, assess resident needs, deliver prescribed therapy and evaluate resident responses. The role requires CRT/RRT licensure, BLS, and strong communication with residents, families and staff to ensure safe, evidence-based care.

Ventilator unit experience is required; LTC/SNF background preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the practicing state.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Current Finger Print Card Clearance.
• Current TB test within the last year.
• Physical examination within the last 6 months.
• COVID vaccination card.
• Ventilator unit experience required; long-term acute care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills to interact with residents, families, staff, physicians, consultants, providers and agencies.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Promotes healing of acutely ill residents through respiratory care, diagnostics, education.
• Administers respiratory care including intermittent and continuous therapy, ventilation, airway management, and oxygen/carbon dioxide monitoring.
• Sets up and administers medical gases, humidification, aerosols, medications and ventilatory support as they relate to patient care.
• Participates in rehab department management, including case management, quality improvement and care planning.
• Oversees equipment management, paperwork, and reimbursement considerations for respiratory services.
• Coordinates with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory care into daily practice; trains staff as needed.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates respiratory therapy care and life support for residents; supports efficient operation.

Education

Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

BLS certification
