Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Twin Falls, ID is seeking a Respiratory Therapist who can independently perform respiratory care procedures, interpret physician orders, assess resident needs, deliver prescribed therapy, and evaluate resident response.

The therapist will serve as a consultant, educator, and clinician to clinical staff, collaborate with nursing leadership, manage equipment, coordinate care plans, and contribute to discharge planning and follow-up.

Qualifications

• Must hold CRT or RRT licensure in the practicing state.
• Current BLS; ACLS preferred.
• Fingerprint clearance and TB test within the past year.
• Physical exam within the last 6 months.
• COVID card.
• Ventilator unit experience; LTC or skilled nursing preferred.
• Strong communication with residents, families, staff, physicians.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Promotes healing of acutely ill residents through respiratory care, education, and assessments.
• Administers respiratory care including therapy and monitoring.
• Sets up and uses medical gases, humidification, aerosols, medications, and ventilation support.
• Oversees rehab department management, case management, and quality improvement.
• Manages reimbursement, billing, and resident records for rehab services.
• Collaborates with nursing to integrate respiratory care and trains staff.
• Assesses and adjusts care plans based on residents' condition.
• Coordinates equipment orders and documentation from referral sources.
• Discharges planning and follow-up for respiratory services.
• Develops discharge plans and schedules follow-up visits.
• Maintains life support equipment and ensures efficient operation.
• Assesses developmental needs across age groups and adapts care.
• Provides general medical equipment and supplies per physician orders.
• Other duties may be assigned.
