Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to independently perform respiratory care procedures, interpret physician orders, and evaluate resident responses. The role includes education for clinical staff and collaboration with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory services in daily practice.

The position requires CRT or RRT certification, current BLS, and unit-specific experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Valid Finger Print Card Clearance and TB test within prescribed timelines.
• COVID vaccination/clearance as applicable per policy.
• Ventilator unit experience in LTC or skilled nursing settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care, including assessment, therapy, and evaluation of resident response.
• Administer medical gases, humidification, aerosols, and ventilatory support as prescribed.
• Coordinate with rehab and nursing leadership to integrate respiratory services into daily practice.
• Manage equipment orders, maintenance scheduling and documentation.
• Develop discharge plans and ensure proper resident records and billing alignment.
