Job summary

Straight and Narrow in Paterson, NJ, is seeking a Residential Life Shift Leader to provide on-site leadership and ensure a safe, structured environment for clients in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation setting. The role supports treatment engagement, responds to crises, documents incidents, and coordinates with clinical and administrative teams.

The position is full-time, daytime hours (8:00am–4:00pm) across multiple Passaic/Patterson/Secaucus programs.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma / General Education Diploma (GED); Associate degree preferred; with one (1) year of supervisory experience
• Working towards the CADC/Recovery Specialist, Addictions and Mental Health experience preferred
• Have and maintain CPR/First Aid certification or achieve CPR/First Aid /ServSafe certification within thirty (30) days from the date of hire

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, disciplined and caring therapeutic environment and maintain direct supervision of all clients
• In collaboration with the RLD director assist in covering the responsibilities of Residential Life Supervisor in his/her absence from the agency
• Provide crisis intervention and help de-escalate incidents as they occur
• Coordinate with food service personnel in advance of activities that require changing a mealtime or reducing meals
• Ensure daily tasks are completed before the end of the shift and hand off to the incoming shift
