Job summary

Straight and Narrow is seeking a Residential Life Shift Leader for overnight shifts in Paterson, NJ. The role provides on-site leadership in drug and alcohol rehabilitation settings, ensuring a safe, structured environment and adherence to policies.

The position requires overnight coverage Wed–Sun 12:00am–8:00am, a high school diploma or GED, and supervisory experience. NJ driver’s license and EHR familiarity are required; placement offers competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification current or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Valid NJ driver’s license with limited points; ability to drive agency vehicles.
• Proficient computer skills and Electronic Health Records (EHR) experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, disciplined and caring therapeutic environment and supervise clients.
• Coordinate with Residential Life director in absence of supervisor.
• Document incidents and daily activities in the EHR system.
• Oversee shift tasks, ensure policy compliance and proper staff coverage.
• Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Support client engagement and treatment adherence during shifts.
