Job summary

Citi in Vienna, VA is seeking a Mortgage Lending Officer to originate high quality residential real estate loans and build strong relationships with clients, Realtors, and referral partners.

The role requires mortgage sales experience, knowledge of FHA/VA and conventional products, and compliance with lending laws. You will collaborate with Branch partners, Operations, Processors and Underwriters to close loans and grow Citi's mortgage business.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant experience
• 3+ years previous mortgage sales experience required
• Residential Mortgage experience required
• Established book of business
• Proven product sales capability is required
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience is preferred
• The ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives
• Knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, and RESPA
• Demonstrated customer service skills
• Strong relationship development and management skills
• Expertise of general lending products and overall mortgage industry

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about their financial situation, objectives and lending needs to help them achieve home ownership goals
• Collect and analyze information about income, assets, debts, cash flow, and credit history
• Analyze financial information for initial qualification of lending solutions
• Make recommendations on lending solutions that meet financial and personal objectives
• Advise customers about risks and benefits of alternative lending solutions
• Promote Citi's lending services to real estate agents, builders, and referral sources
• Visit customers outside Citi offices based on geography and client base
• Work with internal partners to support and grow customers
• Refer customers to appropriate Citi professionals for additional financial services
• Partner with Operations to ensure smooth loan application transfer and timely processing
• Work with Processors/Closers to ensure timely loan closings
• Develop key referral relationships to drive mortgage business into Citi
• Introduce clients to segment partners when appropriate
• Keep abreast of local market trends and regulatory changes
• Assess risk with sound ethical judgment and escalate/control issues with transparency
