Citigroup Inc. in New York seeks a Mortgage Lending Officer to originate high quality residential real estate loans and to drive Citi's retail mortgage business. You will assess borrowers, explain pricing, and coordinate with processors and underwriters to close loans.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant mortgage sales experience.
• Residential mortgage experience is required.
• Established book of business is required.
• Proven product sales capability is required.
• FHA/VA and conventional loan experience is preferred.
• The ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives.
• Knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, and RESPA.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong relationship development and management skills.
• Expertise of general lending products and overall mortgage industry.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about their financial situation, objectives and lending needs.
• Collect and analyze information about the customer's financial situation, goals, assets, debts, income, and credit history.
• Analyze financial information to assess loan qualification.
• Make recommendations on lending solutions.
• Advise customers about risks and benefits of alternatives.
• Promote Citi's brand and lending services to real estate agents and clients.
• Visit customers outside Citi offices as needed.
• Collaborate with internal partners to grow our customers.
• Refer clients to appropriate Citi professionals when needed.
• Coordinate with Operations to move applications and obtain information for Processors/Underwriters.
• Work with Processors/Closers to ensure timely loan closings.
• Develop key referral relationships with Realtors, CPAs, builders, etc.
• Keep abreast of market trends and regulatory changes.
