Job summary

Citi is recruiting for a Mortgage Lending Officer in Danville, CA. This role drives high-quality residential real estate lending and partners with branches, agents, and operations to close loans efficiently.

Expect 2–5 years in mortgage sales, an established book of business, and NMLS registration. You will analyze applicants, explain pricing, and promote Citi's lending solutions while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant experience.
• 3+ years previous mortgage sales experience required.
• Residential Mortgage experience required.
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred.
• Knowledge of lending laws including RESPA.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about financial situations and lending needs to achieve home ownership goals.
• Collect and analyze customers' financial information, goals, income, assets, debts, and credit history.
• Analyze financial information to assess mortgage qualification for a lending solution.
• Make recommendations on lending solutions that meet objectives.
• Advise customers on risks and benefits of alternatives.
• Promote Citi’s brand and lending services to real estate agents and clients.
• Visit customers outside Citi offices and work with internal partners to grow business.
• Refer customers to other Citi professionals as needed.
• Collaborate with Operations to ensure smooth loan application transfer and data collection.
• Work with Processors/Closers to ensure timely loan closing.
• Cultivate referral relationships with Realtors, CPAs, builders, etc.
• Keep current on local market trends and regulatory changes.
