Job summary

Citi's Retail Mortgage division seeks a Mortgage Lending Officer to originate high-quality residential real estate loans. The role collaborates with retail branches, operations, and referral partners to drive mortgage sales and client relationships.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of residential mortgage experience, strong knowledge of loan products, and excellent communication skills. Travel to client sites may be required; a valid Mortgage Loan Originator registration is necessary.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in mortgage or related sales
• Residential Mortgage experience required
• 1+ year sales/finance experience required
• Proven sales capability is required
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred
• Able to explain financial calculations and pricing
• Knowledge of consumer lending laws including fair lending & RESPA
• Strong customer service and relationship skills

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about financial situations and lending needs to achieve home ownership goals
• Collect and analyze customer financial data, goals, risk tolerance, income, assets, debts, and credit history
• Assess whether customers and properties qualify for lending solutions
• Recommend lending solutions meeting customers' financial objectives
• Advise customers on risks and benefits of lending options
• Promote Citi’s lending services to real estate agents, builders, and referral sources
• Visit customers outside Citi offices as needed
• Collaborate with internal partners to grow mortgage business and referrals
• Refer customers to Citi professionals for other financial services
• Coordinate with Operations to ensure smooth loan application processing and timely closings
