Job summary

Socket Fiber is seeking a Field Services Technician - Tier I to provide on-site installation services for residential customers and support connectivity to Socket's fiber network. Travel across service areas, work in diverse conditions, and represent the company in a professional manner.

You will install and configure customer equipment, diagnose issues, and complete documentation while adhering to safety protocols and DOT/OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have relevant experience in telecommunications, networking, or field service.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfortable in underground and aerial environments and able to climb ladders up to 32 ft.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent installations and repairs for residential and business services.
• Install and configure customer equipment including routers, modems, and Wi-Fi gateways.
• Deliver professional customer experiences during service visits.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity and service issues accurately and quickly.
• Install, terminate, and test network cabling per codes and standards.
• Document service activities accurately and on time.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment following safety protocols.
