Job summary

Socket Fiber is seeking a skilled Field Services Technician‑ Tier II to join our team for on-site residential installations and service. This role requires travel across service areas and work in varied conditions to ensure a seamless customer experience with the Socket fiber network.

Candidates must have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to participate in on‑call rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in telecommunications, installation, construction, and utility work.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
• Ability to participate in an on‑call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and operate a bucket truck up to 300 lbs.
• Flexible schedule with Saturdays and/or Sundays.
• Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent installations and repairs for residential customers.
• Install and configure customer equipment, including routers, modems, and Wi‑Fi gateways.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience by being professional, friendly, and knowledgeable during all service visits.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity and service issues with accuracy and efficiency.
• Install, terminate, and test network cabling, adhering to all relevant codes and standards.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of service activities.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment, including ladders and bucket trucks, in accordance with all safety protocols and DOT/OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean driving record and represent Socket Fiber with professionalism in the field.
