Job summary

Socket Fiber in the United States is seeking a Field Services Technician - Tier I to perform on-site installation and service for residential customers. You will use a company vehicle to travel to customer sites and complete installs with professionalism and attention to safety.

The role requires lifting up to 70 lbs, climbing ladders, operating a bucket truck, and joining an on-call rotation including nights and weekends. A high school diploma and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in telecommunications, networking, or field service.
• Valid driver's license with no restrictions.
• Able to participate in on-call rotation (nights/weekends/holidays).
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 70 lbs.
• Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent installations and repairs for residential and business services.
• Install and configure customer equipment (routers, modems, Wi‑Fi gateways).
• Deliver a professional customer experience during service visits.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues efficiently.
• Install, terminate, and test network cabling per codes and standards.
• Complete accurate documentation of service activities.
• Operate company vehicles and bucket trucks safely and in compliance with DOT/OSHA.
