Job summary

Ohio Living is seeking an Activities Assistant to support programming that promotes the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of residents. You will help residents engage in hobbies, coordinate activities, and assist with crafts while maintaining strong communication with families and staff.

Responsibilities include planning and scheduling activities, and ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year activities experience preferred.
• Two years experience in a long-term care, hospital, or other related healthcare setting preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day activity functions to provide programming that meets residents’ interests and well-being.
• Encourages and assists residents to participate in hobbies and crafts.
• Assists bed-bound residents by visiting, writing/reading letters, providing materials for hobbies.
• Makes routine visits to residents and assists with crafts and projects.
• May assist with transporting residents to/from dining areas and to off-site activities.
• Maintains open relationships with resident family members and responds professionally to requests.
