Job summary

Ohio Living seeks an Activities Coordinator to plan, organize, develop, and direct the Activity Department at our Toledo-area facility. The role ensures an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being in line with company standards and regulations.

Collaborate with care teams, supervise staff, and maintain positive relationships with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, art therapy, or a related field preferred.
• Current unencumbered designation to practice as a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist preferred.
• Two years experience in a long-term care, hospital, or other related healthcare setting required.
• One year supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and direct the Activity Department to ensure an ongoing program of activities.
• Provide quality activity programming to residents and interact with residents to ensure quality care and positive resident/staff relations.
• Maintain open relationships with resident family members and respond to requests or concerns.
• Review resident concerns/complaints and maintain written records of actions taken.
• Attend care conferences as necessary and address concerns from Resident/Family Satisfaction Survey.
• Supervise Activities staff and promote a positive work environment; handle staffing and training; ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Develop and oversee written plans of care for each resident and document progress notes accordingly.
• Maintain knowledge of licensure, certification, and reimbursement issues and keep confidential resident information.
