Job summary

The role focuses on quality activity programming, collaboration with families and staff, care conferences, and adherence to licensure and reimbursement requirements while leading the activities team and ensuring staffing coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, art therapy, or related field preferred.
• Current unencumbered designation to practice as a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality activity programming to residents.
• Interact with residents to ensure quality care and positive resident/staff relations.
• Maintain open and trust‑building relationships with resident family members and respond to requests or concerns.
• Review resident concerns/ complaints and maintain written records of action taken.
• Serve as community liaison; seek out new revenue-generating opportunities and referrals.
• Attend care conferences as necessary.
• Address concerns from Resident/Family Satisfaction Survey.
• Supervise Activities staff.
• Foster a positive work environment and motivate employees.
• Interview, select, and orient new direct reports.
• Set and promote performance expectations; ensure high quality and consistent performance.
• Monitor accountability per Employee Handbook and document non-compliance with HR when needed.
• Participate in in-service training, scheduling, and orientation programs.
• Ensure staffing plans for absences or vacancies.
