Job summary

Ohio Living seeks an Activities Assistant to support programs that enhance the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of residents. You will coordinate activities, encourage participation in crafts and hobbies, and assist residents including those who are bed-bound.

You may help transport residents to dining areas or field trips and will work closely with families to address requests. In this role you’ll maintain activity logs, communicate needs for supplies, and participate in meetings.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Experience in activities or caregiving roles preferred.
• Ability to interact with residents and family members with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide programming to meet residents' interests and well-being.
• Encourage participation in hobbies and crafts; assist bed-bound residents.
• Assist with transporting residents to dining or activities; accompany to off-site activities when needed.
• Maintain open, trust-building relationships with residents and families; respond to requests promptly.
• Prepare reading materials and adapt activities for different abilities.
