Job summary

HomeFirst seeks a Resident Advocate to oversee on-site operations in San Jose, ensuring residents receive essential services such as housing support, workshops, and meals while maintaining safety. You will coordinate access to clinical services and coordinate with staff to meet participant needs.

You will respond to guest crises using de-escalation techniques, document services in HMIS, and conduct regular safety and site checks as part of trauma-informed care and agency policies.

Qualifications

• Experience using HMIS to document services.
• Ability to engage diverse participants and provide case management.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles in service delivery.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Service: supervise and assist program participants and guests.
• Document all services in HMIS within 3 business days.
• Lead on-site workshops on topics like financial literacy and tenant rights.
• Perform safety checks and respond to emergencies following protocols.
• Complete and file incident reports and housing-related paperwork.
