Job summary

HomeFirst is seeking a Temporary Resident Advocate to support onsite operations at Washington Community Center in San Jose. You will assist participants, manage intake, housing plans, and coordinate safety with staff for a respectful, supportive environment.

The role involves shift work (swing & grave) and runs through April 2027, with a comprehensive on-site program and on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• AA degree or two years of higher education.
• Lived experience or understanding of unhoused population.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Direct client service and supervision of participants and guests.
• Perform safety checks and enforce site rules.
• Complete HMIS intake and documentation within 3 business days.
• Assist with housing plans and resource referrals.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
