Job summary

HomeFirst in San Jose is seeking a Resident Advocate for the Emergency Interim Housing Cherry program. You will supervise program participants on site, enforce guidelines, and coordinate access to services while maintaining safety and dignity for guests.

You will develop housing plans, conduct intake, and support participants through workshops and crisis response, helping move people toward permanent housing with trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• AA degree not required; High School education noted.
• Sensitivity to the needs of unhoused individuals.
• Experience working with unhoused population.

Responsibilities

• Care, safety and supervision of program participants and guests.
• Enforce EIH Cherry site rules and guidelines.
• Check guests in/out using HMIS and document notes within 3 business days.
• Develop and monitor personalized housing plans with participants.
• Lead weekly on-site workshops and respond to crises using de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
