Job summary

HomeFirst seeks a Resident Advocate for the EIH Cerone program in San Jose. The role focuses on on-site care, safety, and housing plan development for participants, using trauma-informed care and harm-reduction approaches.

The position emphasizes direct service, collaboration with staff, and monthly workshops; prior experience with unhoused populations is preferred. It is a full-time, day/swing/grave shift on-site, with comprehensive benefits and mission-driven work.

Qualifications

• AA degree (or equivalent of 2 years of higher education) or two years of field experience in social services.
• Sensitivity to needs of unhoused populations.
• Experience working with unhoused population.

Responsibilities

• Direct service and safety oversight of program participants on site.
• Assist with intake, HMIS procedures, and housing plan development.
• Lead workshops and provide crisis de-escalation and support.
• Ensure compliance with program policies and maintain confidential records.
