Job summary

ABB is seeking a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Support Specialist to provide expert technical support to customers, end users, and internal teams. The role covers VFDs, 3-phase power, system wiring, and connectivity, with a hybrid working model in New Berlin, WI or remote across the United States.

You will handle troubleshooting, drive programming, and integration with control systems, collaborating with engineering, field service, and sales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant Electrical/Technical experience, OR associate's with 6 years, OR high school with 8 years.
• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work is required.
• Ability to respond to inquiries from customers and communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written; must be computer-literate.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone & email for VFD-related issues including commissioning, troubleshooting and warranty evaluations.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales and product teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with the warranty team to initiate warranty replacements and labor authorizations.
• Maintain detailed documentation of support cases and solutions using Salesforce Case Management.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
