Job summary

CLF Consultants LLC is hiring entry-level, fully remote Medical Support Assistants to support the VA VISN 19 Office of Community Care. You will schedule primary care visits and clinic appointments, serving Veterans and families across the VISN 19 region from home.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Oral and written proficiency in English; basic computer skills.
• Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
• Minimum 6 months of customer service experience.
• Ability to pass a federal background investigation (NACI, Low Risk).
• A quiet, private home workspace within 50 miles of a VISN 19 VA Medical Center, with reliable high speed internet.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Veteran appointments for primary care, specialty clinics, and community care per VHA Directive 1230; maintain accuracy and timeliness each shift.
• Verify and update patient demographics, next of kin, emergency contact, and insurance information per federal standards.
• Document interactions in CPRS and VistA at required volume and accuracy, averaging at least 20 cases per day over the week.
• Coordinate with Lead Scheduler and care teams; escalate stalled referrals and system issues through defined channels.
• Provide professional, empathetic customer service to Veterans, family members, and VA staff by phone and secure channels.
