Job summary

CLF Consultants LLC (DBA: CLFC Healthcare and Communications) is hiring entry-level, fully remote Medical Support Assistants to support the VA VISN 19 Office of Community Care. You work from home and schedule primary care visits, specialty clinics, and community care consults for Veterans and families across VISN 19.

This role requires at least six months of customer service, basic computer skills, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to pass a federal background check.

Qualifications

• United States citizenship.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Oral and written proficiency in English; basic computer skills.
• Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
• Minimum 6 months of customer service experience.
• Ability to pass a federal background investigation (NACI, Low Risk).
• A quiet, private home workspace within 50 miles of a VISN 19 VA Medical Center, with reliable high speed internet.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Veteran appointments for primary care, specialty clinics, and community care per VHA Directive 1230.
• Verify and update patient demographics, next of kin, emergency contact, and insurance information.
• Document interactions in CPRS and VistA at required volume and accuracy.
• Coordinate with the Lead Scheduler and care teams; escalate stalled referrals and system issues.
• Provide professional, empathetic customer service by phone and secure channels.
• Complete annual cybersecurity, Privacy Act, and HIPAA training; maintain confidentiality.
