Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Transportation Consultant to oversee day-to-day transportation operations, standardize processes, and act as the regional Single Point of Contact across a remote nationwide network. You will partner with planners, 3PL carriers, and DC leadership to maintain service levels and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires 4+ years in transportation/logistics, strong data skills with TMS/Tableau/Power BI, and the ability to analyze KPIs and respond to disruptions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Certifications such as PMP or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are a plus.
• 4+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with focus on fleet operations or carrier performance preferred.
• Experience managing operational processes, day-to-day transportation execution, and 3PL/carrier performance for regional or multi-facility networks.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret operational data, review scorecards, and derive insights from transportation trends.
• Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and TMS preferred.
• Proven ability to coordinate during time-sensitive disruptions like weather contingencies and holidays.
• Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the operational Single Point of Contact for FDC transportation operations across 1–5 facilities.
• Collaborate with carriers, 3PL partners, and distribution leadership to manage service delivery and resolve exceptions.
• Align with Transportation Planners on SOPs, route planning, and daily compliance across sites.
• Drive process standardization and governance, including SOP maintenance and ASO workflows.
• Proactively coordinate contingency plans for weather, holidays, and system outages.
• Use TMS and BI tools to monitor KPIs, analyze data, and provide regional leadership with actionable insights.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and coordinate with engineering to implement best practices.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure transparent delivery execution.
