Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Transportation Consultant to oversee day-to-day operations and standardize processes across a regional portfolio. You will serve as the main operational POC, partnering with planners, DC leadership, and 3PL carriers to maintain service levels and drive performance using TMS and BI tools.

The role emphasizes cross-functional coordination, data analysis, and contingency planning to manage disruptions and optimize regional logistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Certifications such as PMP or Lean Six Sigma are a plus.
• 4+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, focused on fleet operations or carrier management.
• Experience managing operational processes, day-to-day transportation execution, and 3PL performance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary operational POC for transportation operations across 1–5 facilities; troubleshoot and resolve daily challenges.
• Collaborate with carriers and 3PL partners to manage service delivery expectations and verify carrier execution.
• Coordinate with Transportation Planners to align SOPs and route planning; ensure daily compliance.
• Drive SOP maintenance and governance; oversee ASO processes and standard protocols across sites.
• Anticipate disruptions and coordinate contingency plans for weather, holiday peaks, and system outages.
• Use TMS and BI tools to monitor KPIs, identify failure modes, and provide data-driven feedback to leadership.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction with cross-functional teams.
• Communicate with distribution centers, customer service, planning, and external providers to ensure clear delivery updates.
