Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Transportation Consultant to oversee day-to-day transportation operations across a portfolio of facilities within Cardinal Health's distribution network, acting as the primary operational POC and partnering with Transportation Planners, DC leadership, and 3PLs to maintain delivery performance and enforce SOPs, including the ASO process.

The role leverages TMS and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) to track KPIs, troubleshoot disruptions, and coordinate real-time solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Certifications: PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management with focus on fleet operations, dispatch, or carrier operations preferred.
• Experience managing operational processes, day-to-day transportation execution, and 3PL/carrier performance for regional or multi-facility networks.
• Strong analytical mindset to interpret operational data, review scorecards, and derive actionable insights from transportation trends.
• Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Proven ability to coordinate and lead during time-sensitive operational disruptions, including weather contingencies and holiday planning.
• Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional peers and external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic, high-velocity logistics environment.
• Travel 10-15%.

Responsibilities

• Operational Point of Contact & Issue Resolution: Serve as the primary operational POC for FDC transportation operations for 1–5 facilities and resolve day-to-day transport challenges.
• Carrier & Fleet Partner Collaboration: Foster collaboration with carrier operations management and 3PL partners to manage service delivery and verify execution.
• Transportation Planner Alignment: Partner with Transportation Planners to reinforce SOPs and route planning expectations across facilities.
• Process Standardization & Governance: Drive SOP maintenance and ASO process governance across sites.
• Business Disruption Management: Plan and execute contingency measures for weather events, peak holidays, and system outages.
• Operational Data Analytics & Dashboard Utilization: Use TMS and BI tools to monitor KPIs and diagnose issues.
• Continuous Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline operations and implement best practices.
• Cross-Functional Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate with DC ops, customer service, planning, and providers for transparent delivery communication.
