Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Transportation Consultant to oversee day-to-day operations and standardize transportation processes across its distribution network. You will serve as the primary operational POC, collaborating with planners and 3PL partners to maintain delivery performance and governance.

The role leverages TMS and BI tools to monitor KPIs, troubleshoot disruptions, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with leadership across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• PMP or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certifications preferred
• 4+ years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with focus on fleet operations, dispatch or carrier ops
• Experience managing operational processes, day-to-day transportation execution, and 3PL/carrier performance for multi-facility networks
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret data, review scorecards, and derive insights from trends
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred
• Proven ability to coordinate and lead during time-sensitive disruptions, including weather and peak periods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence cross-functional peers
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic logistics environment
• Travel expectations: 10-15%

Responsibilities

• Operational Point of Contact & Issue Resolution for 1 to 5 facilities; troubleshoot and resolve transport challenges
• Carrier & Fleet Partner Collaboration to manage service delivery and resolve exceptions
• Transportation Planner Alignment to reinforce SOPs and route planning expectations
• Process Standardization & Governance including SOP maintenance and ASO processes
• Business Disruption Management to coordinate contingency plans for disruptions
• Operational Data Analytics & Dashboard Utilization to monitor KPIs and provide feedback
• Continuous Process Improvement with engineering and leadership to implement best practices
• Cross-Functional Stakeholder Communication with DC ops, customer service, planning, and 3PLs
