Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own the preliminary transmission line design and engineering lifecycle for utility-scale solar, BESS, and interconnection projects.

This fully remote role requires coordinating with multiple internal teams and external consultants to deliver the 10% design package and support BD through handoff. The position emphasizes design ownership, risk assessment, and alignment of route, interconnection, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in transmission line design or related power engineering.
• Proficiency with transmission line design software and standards (NESC, IEEE).

Responsibilities

• Own the first-pass preliminary transmission line and gen-tie design for assigned pursuits and projects.
• Review client provided documents and interconnection agreements to identify requirements and risks.
• Coordinate inputs from engineering consultants, survey, environmental and permitting teams.
• Lead development of the 10% transmission line design to support estimating and pricing.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to align scope and schedule.
• Prepare and issue proposals to EORs and consultants, reviewing for scope and commercial alignment.
