Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own the preliminary transmission line design for solar, BESS, and interconnection projects. The role is fully remote and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to define design basis, route and interconnection requirements, and risks.

You will lead the 10% design, coordinate with estimating and BD, review client documents, and support handoff to Preconstruction. Strong communication and 3+ years in transmission design are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering from an accredited institution.
PE licensure is a nice-to-have, not a must.
Minimum of 3+ years in transmission line design or related power engineering.
Proficiency in transmission line design software (PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS).
Strong understanding of NESC, IEEE and regulations; knowledge of interconnection requirements.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities; able to collaborate cross-functionally.
Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

Own preliminary transmission line design and technical ownership for projects.
Coordinate with estimating, BD and scheduling to align scope and schedule.
Engage with clients, sub consultants, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements.
Prepare and issue proposals to transmission line EORs and subcontractors.
Assist handoff to Preconstruction Engineering with clear risk transfer.
Review deliverables for QA/QC against standards and drive improvements.
