Job summary
SOLV Energy, Inc. is hiring a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own the preliminary transmission line design lifecycle for solar and BESS projects.
This fully remote role requires coordinating with internal teams and external consultants to define design basis, assumptions, and interconnection requirements from kick-off through 10% design. You will collaborate across disciplines to ensure compliant, constructible solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in transmission line design or related power engineering.
- Proficient with PLS tools, AutoCAD or MicroStation.
Responsibilities
- Own the first-pass preliminary transmission line and gen-tie design for 10% deliverable.
- Coordinate with estimating and scheduling to align scope, route length, structure quantities, and assumptions.
- Lead client meetings to review exhibits, identify risks, and clarify requirements beyond SOLV standards.
- Prepare and issue proposals to EORs and consultants and align with project scope and LNTP needs.
- Assist handoff to Preconstruction Engineering with clear RFIs and risks.
