Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own the preliminary design lifecycle for utility-scale solar, BESS, and interconnection projects.

This fully remote role collaborates with BD, estimating, and engineering controls to align design basis, scope, and risks before execution begins. The candidate will lead 10% design, review technical exhibits, and coordinate with engineers, consultants, and land stakeholders to ensure compliant, constructible solutions while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is a nice-to-have, not required.
• Minimum of 3+ years in transmission line design or related power engineering.
• Proficient in transmission line design software (PLS-CADD/POLE/TOWER, AutoCAD, GIS).
• Understanding of NESC, IEEE, and utility interconnection standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the 10% transmission line design, including routing and structure sizing.
• Coordinate with estimating, scheduling, and cross-functional teams to align scope and costs.
• Review client documents and identify requirements, risks, and scope outside SOLV standards.
• Prepare and issue proposals to EORs and subcontractors; ensure alignment with project scope.
