Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own the preliminary transmission line design and engineering lifecycle for utility-scale solar, BESS, and interconnection projects.

This role serves as the primary technical owner from BD kickoff through Design-to-Preconstruction handoff, aligning design basis, scope, schedule, risk, and technical assumptions before execution begins. The position is fully remote; location details will be discussed in the interview process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering.
• PE licensure is a plus but not required.
• 3+ years in transmission line design or related power engineering.
• Experience with design software and industry standards (NESC, IEEE).

Responsibilities

• Own preliminary transmission line design and technical ownership for projects.
• Coordinate with estimating, scheduling, and BD for aligned scope and risks.
• Engage with clients, EORs, consultants, and internal teams to manage inputs and risks.
• Prepare and review 10% design deliverables, routing, and structure sizing.
• Lead handoff to Preconstruction Engineering and ensure clear documentation.
