SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own the preliminary line design for utility-scale solar, BESS, and interconnection projects.

This fully remote role drives the design basis, assumptions, route and interconnection requirements from kickoff through handoff, coordinating with engineering, estimating, environmental, and client teams. Lead the 10% design, align scope with schedule and pricing, ensure compliance with NESC and IEEE standards, and guide cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electrical/civil engineering required; PE licensure nice-to-have.
• 3+ years in transmission line design or related power engineering.
• Experience with design software and utility standards (NESC, IEEE).

Responsibilities

• Own the first-pass preliminary transmission line and gen-tie design for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with estimating, scheduling, and technical teams to align design and scope.
• Lead development of the 10% transmission line design for routing and structure sizing.
• Prepare RFIs, review proposals from EORs, and handoff to Preconstruction.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure design compliance with standards.
