Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to lead preliminary transmission line design for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. You will coordinate with engineering teams, estimators, and clients to align design scope, route, and interconnection requirements during the 10% design phase.

This fully remote role requires strong technical and leadership skills, with travel up to 10% and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliant, constructible solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE licensure or equivalent is a plus, not mandatory.
• 3+ years in transmission line design or related power engineering.
• Proficiency with major design software and standards (NESC/IEEE).
• Strong communication and leadership for cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Preliminary transmission line design ownership and 10% design support.
• Coordinate with estimators, schedulers, and clients to align scope and risks.
• Lead communications with internal and external stakeholders on design decisions.
• Coordinate EORs/subcontractors and review proposals for technical scope.
• Prepare handoff materials for Preconstruction Engineering.
• Review design deliverables for compliance with industry standards.
