Job summary
SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own the preliminary design lifecycle for utility-scale solar and related projects. This fully remote role requires coordinating routing, structure sizing, and interconnection assumptions from kickoff through 10% design and handoff to Preconstruction Engineering.
The candidate will lead technical inputs from engineering consultants, surveys, and environmental teams, ensuring alignment with schedule, scope, and risk.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in transmission line design or related power engineering.
- Proficiency with transmission line design software and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Own preliminary transmission line design and technical ownership for 10% design deliverables.
- Coordinate with estimating to align scope, schedule, and assumptions.
- Engage with clients to review exhibits, risks, and requirements outside SOLV standards.
- Coordinate with EORs and subs, review proposals for scope and commercial alignment.
- Prepare handoff materials for Preconstruction Engineering and support early execution readiness.
- Review deliverables for compliance with NESC, IEEE, and utility standards.
