Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. seeks a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own the preliminary line design for utility-scale solar and related projects. You will coordinate with estimating, scheduling, and engineering teams and serve as the technical owner from kickoff through handoff, ensuring design intent and compliance with standards.

The role is fully remote with discussions on location during interview. 3+ years in transmission line design and proficiency with PLS tools are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE licensure or equivalent is a nice-to-have, not required.
• Minimum 3+ years in transmission line design or related power engineering.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE/PLS-TOWER, AutoCAD/MicroStation, GIS.
• Understanding of NESC, IEEE and utility design standards.

Responsibilities

• Own preliminary transmission line design for utility-scale projects and 10% design deliverable.
• Coordinate with estimating, BD, and stakeholders to align route, quantities, and scope.
• Lead client engagements, explain design assumptions, and identify risks.
• Coordinate proposals with EORs/subcontractors and ensure scope alignment.
• Prepare handoff details to Preconstruction Engineering and HV teams.
• Ensure QA and value engineering of designs with standards compliance.
