Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission, to own the preliminary line design and engineering lifecycle for utility-scale solar and interconnection projects. The role acts as the primary technical owner from kickoff through the 10% design deliverable, coordinating inputs from engineering consultants, land teams, and procurement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering from an accredited institution.
3+ years of experience in transmission line design or related power engineering.
Proficiency in transmission line design software (PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS).
Strong understanding of NESC, IEEE, and industry standards.
Familiarity with interconnection requirements, ROW and permitting considerations.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Own preliminary transmission line design and technical ownership for 10% design deliverable.
Coordinate with estimating, scheduling, and BD to align scope, route, and assumptions.
Engage with clients and project teams to review exhibits, requirements, and risks.
Coordinate proposals with EORs and subcontractors and ensure alignment with scope and LNTP.
Prepare handoff documentation and transfer risks and inputs to Preconstruction Engineering.
Review and approve design deliverables for adherence to standards and drive value engineering.
