Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own preliminary line design and engineering through handoff to Preconstruction. This role supports solar, battery storage, and interconnection projects, coordinating cross-functional teams and client requirements.

The position is fully remote with occasional travel and requires 3+ years in transmission line design, strong software proficiency, and a focus on safety, standards, and constructible solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is nice-to-have but not required.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in transmission line design or related power engineering.

Responsibilities

• Preliminary Transmission Line Design and Technical Ownership, including design basis, routing, and interconnection requirements for 10% design deliverables.
• Estimate and align preliminary design with estimating, schedule, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and subcontractors to review exhibits, risks, and scope outside SOLV standards.
• Lead the 10% transmission line design development and support pricing and BD efforts.
• Handoff readiness for Preconstruction Engineering with clear transfer of RFIs and design risks.
