Job summary
SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own the preliminary transmission line design for solar, BESS, and related interconnection projects. This fully remote role acts as the technical owner from kickoff through design-to-preconstruction handoff, aligning design basis, route, schedule, risk, and assumptions.
You will collaborate with engineering consultants, survey, environmental, land, and utility teams, and travel up to 10% as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering.
- PE licensure is a nice-to-have, not required.
- Minimum of 3+ years in transmission line design or related power engineering.
- Experience with PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, GIS and related design tools.
Responsibilities
- Own the preliminary transmission line design and define design basis, route, and interconnection requirements.
- Coordinate inputs from engineering consultants, survey, environmental, land use, and other teams.
- Lead 10% design development for transmission lines, including sizing and refinements.
- Prepare handoff materials for Preconstruction Engineering and BD with RFIs and open items.
