Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own preliminary line design for utility-scale solar, BESS, and interconnection projects. This fully remote role coordinates with estimating, BD, and engineering teams to develop the 10% design package and align scope and schedule.

The position requires collaboration across disciplines, compliance with NESC/IEEE standards, and clear communication with clients and stakeholders. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is nice-to-have, not required.
• 3+ years of experience in transmission line design or related power engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead preliminary transmission line design and ownership for assigned projects, including routing and 10% design deliverables.
• Coordinate with estimating, scheduling, and BD to align technical scope and commercial assumptions.
• Engage with clients, internal stakeholders, and utility documents to identify requirements outside SOLV standards.
• Coordinate proposals with EORs and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with scope and LNTP requirements.
• Prepare handoff materials and transfer design risks and items to the Preconstruction Engineering team.
