Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Time Entry & Compliance Analyst to support fee recoverability and ensure time entries and invoices comply with client Outside Counsel Guidelines. The role operates fully remote and collaborates with CRMs, billing specialists, and clients to improve billing accuracy and compliance.

Required is substantial experience with insurance-related billing, strong analytics, and exceptional communication skills to coach timekeepers and influence cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a paralegal or attorney handling insurance related work; or experience on a billing compliance team in a law firm.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a law firm environment preferred.
• Experience with Elite 3E and Laurel preferred.
• Advanced expertise of client Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs), legal billing rules, audit workflows, and the appeals process.
• Sharp analytical acumen with the ability to interpret audit findings and craft persuasive, evidence-based narratives.

Responsibilities

• Audit and Compliance Review: Review daily time entries and pre-bills for designated clients, identify noncompliant entries, and recommend corrections to minimize audit exposure.
• Appeals and Recovery: Prepare and submit invoice appeals recovering fees; draft narratives grounded in client OCGs to reduce administrative burden; maximize appeal recovery.
• OCG Analysis and Systems Administration: Analyze incoming/outgoing OCGs, translate requirements into guidance, ingest OCGs into Laurel, and create client-specific time-entry guides.
• Training and Stakeholder Communication: Deliver targeted training to timekeepers, track audit trends, and communicate guideline changes across teams.
