Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Time Entry & Compliance Analyst to safeguard fee recoverability by ensuring time entries and invoices comply with client Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs). The role interfaces with CRMs, billing specialists, and clients to strengthen billing accuracy and drive improvement in the firm’s practices.

Audit and revise time entries, prepare invoice appeals, and analyze OCG requirements within Laurel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a paralegal or attorney handling insurance-related work.
• Experience on billing compliance teams in a law firm environment.
• Experience working as a bill auditor for an insurance company.
• Advanced expertise of client Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs) and legal billing rules.
• Strong analytical and writing skills with the ability to craft persuasive narratives.
• Exceptional communication and coaching skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Ability to lead through influence and build consensus-based support.
• Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Audit daily time entries and pre-bills for designated clients, identify noncompliant entries, and recommend corrections.
• Revise time entries to ensure compliance with applicable billing rules.
• Prepare and submit invoice appeals recovering fees, grounded in client OCGs.
• Ingest and analyze OCGs in Laurel, translating requirements into timekeeper guidance.
• Create client-specific time entry guides and provide training on compliant entry practices.
• Deliver targeted training and coaching to timekeepers and monitor audit trends.
• Communicate guideline changes and coordinate with Billing, e-Billing and Revenue Cycle Operations.
