Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Territory Manager, Specialty Care Business Development. This remote/WFH role focuses on Commercial Lines Middle Market accounts within Human Services and Nonprofit sectors. Travel to partner agencies is expected, with at least 25 visits per year, and requires multi-line underwriting experience and a strong agency-management orientation.

The position emphasizes driving profit, pricing, and strategic agency collaboration to win and retain business across the territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum seven years of progressively responsible underwriting and sales experience in commercial business.
• Detailed knowledge of commercial underwriting, pricing and coverage for middle market business.
• Ability to build and maintain cooperative internal and external partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Market, manage and underwrite commercial business with select agencies or brokers.
• Drive profit and premium to meet financial goals and objectives through developing, negotiating and implementing business plans.
• Lead and influence agencies by creating sales strategies and implementing sales processes and practices that drive new sales, increase shelf space and improve retention.
• Assists agencies with pipeline management and producer development in targeted industries and preferred markets.
• Quote, price and underwrite new and renewal policies for complex or service-sensitive accounts.
• Ensure agency relations and customer service levels are maintained and improved.
