Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Territory Manager, Specialty Care Business Development, to market, manage and underwrite commercial business with select agencies or brokers. The role emphasizes Human Services and Nonprofit accounts, with a focus on developing sales strategies, agency partnerships, and achieving profit targets.

You will travel regularly to partner agencies, support multi-line underwriting, and drive pipeline management while aligning with underwriting standards and corporate objectives.

Qualifications

• Multi-line commercial insurance underwriting experience, including underwriting authority.
• Seven years of progressively more responsible underwriting and sales experience in commercial business preferred.
• Knowledge of company sales and underwriting standards and practices, company commercial products and programs.
• Overtime Eligibility: Not Eligible (Exempt)

Responsibilities

• Market, manage and underwrite commercial business with select agencies or brokers, driving profit and premium to meet goals.
• Develop, negotiate and implement business plans; create sales strategies to drive new sales and retention.
• Research risk, environment and other factors to win accounts and analyze underwriting performance regionally.
• Quotes, prices and underwrites new and renewal policies for complex or service sensitive accounts.
• Monitor risk selection and pricing decisions for whole agency plant and individual accounts.
• Lead agency relationships, pipeline management and producer development in targeted industries.
• Communicate product changes and market intelligence to agencies and leaders.
• Visit agencies to develop new accounts and enhance relationships; ensure high service levels.
